About Us
St Etheldreda’s is one of London’s hidden gems, a beautiful and historic building and the oldest Roman Catholic Church in England. Mass is celebrated in English at 1 pm every weekday (with very rare exceptions) and at 9 am each Sunday. There is a sung Latin Mass (novus ordo) at 11 am each Sunday. St Etheldreda’s boasts a fine musical tradition, and is available for weddings and baptisms.

St Etheldreda’s is situated in Ely Place, a historic gated road off Holborn Circus in Central London. There is some on-street parking in Ely Place, but it gets busy in the weekdays. St Etheldreda’s is in the Congestion Charge Zone, which operates 7am-6pm on weekdays only.
The nearest tube stations are Chancery Lane (Central Line) and Farringdon (Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan Lines). Overground trains arrive into Farringdon and City Thameslink.
Buses 8, N8, 390, 521 all stop nearby on High Holborn, and the 63 on Farringdon Road.
