Sixth Sunday of the year (B).

Jesus Cleanses a Leper

This Sunday for our reading and reflection we have an episode from the Gospel of Mark; the healing of a leper. The person once healed goes on proclaiming to all the miraculous work of Jesus. We find in the Gospel of Mark the enormous number of people looking for Jesus for healing. Feeling sorry for the leper, Jesus heals him. It is out of compassion for whole humanity that Jesus became incarnate and came to earth. It is out of this compassion for humanity that Jesus died on the cross. Compassion means to suffer with and Jesus suffers with the sick person and heals him. There are many people sick among us, like Jesus let us suffer with their suffering and ease their pain all the way we can. Happy Sunday.
