Remembrance Sunday

32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time

Today we remember those who were just ordinary people like us gave their life for the freedom we have today. We remember them.

“They shall grow not old,

as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them,

nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,

we will remember them,we will remember them”

Today’s Gospel reading is a famous parable that speaks of ten maidens invited to a wedding feast, a symbol of the kingdom of Heaven and of eternal life (Mt 25:1-13). What is represented by this ‘oil’, the indispensable for being admitted to the nuptial banquet?
